No real surprise here in my 2014-15 Rest of Season Fantasy Hockey Ranks as Sidney Crosby remains where he did pre-draft, at the top! Jakub Voracek climbs up the depth chart a ton as he continues to compete with Crosby for the NHL scoring race. Which is a surprise, but there is no reason to think Voracek can’t keep it up as him and his linemate Claude Giroux are both inside the top 10 in scoring so far this season.
Callahan has been fantastic in his first full season playing in Tampa Bay and has clicked playing alongside sniper Steven Stamkos. Forsberg is well on his way to Rookie of the Year honors and was hardly drafted in leagues. He may be the waiver wire pick up of the year. Tarasenko should challenge Tyler Seguin, Alex Ovechkin and others for the most goals in the NHL. Versteeg’s value could dip when Patrick Sharp returns to the lineup, but for now he is a must own. Giordano has been by far the best Fantasy Hockey defenseman and Hedman would be right there with him if he never broke his hand.
On the other side of the scale, players that are dropping down the Rest of Season Fantasy Hockey Ranks include Anze Kopitar, Taylor Hall, Jason Spezza, Jeff Skinner, Bobby Ryan, Thomas Vanek, Marian Gaborik, David Krejci, T.J. Oshie, Matt Niskanen, Jonathan Drouin, Tomas Hertle and Paul Stastny.
Kopitar, Hall, Skinner and Oshie have battled injuries this season, but are failing to produce even when healthy. Ryan has also been on the shelf, but again has been a disappointment over the first two months of the season. The same can be said for Stastny more so than Krejci. Drouin has been a healthy scratch a number of times and could find himself in the minors before the All-Star break. Vanek and Gaborik are not having success in their new uniforms, but both are known to be streaky players,
